Hyperhydrosis (Exessive Sweating)

People with excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis) can find quick, safe and effective relief from this embarrassing and debilitating condition with specialist wrinkle relaxing treatments. The results are noticeable within a few days and the effects can last for 6-8 months. Hyperhydrosis affects 2-3% of the UK population, to varying degrees of severity. It can be caused by neurological, metabolic, and other systemic diseases, but most cases occur in people who are otherwise healthy. We use local injections of botulinum toxin to alleviate the symptoms of hyperhydrosis. A fine needle is used to inject very small amounts of the product just beneath the skin, near the sweat glands themselves. Research has shown that treating the armpits, hands, feet, and face with botulinum toxin is safe and effective. In one clinical study in people with severe underarm sweating, 81% of the subjects receiving botulinum toxin injections achieved a greater than 50% reduction in sweating. In half of these patients, their excessive sweating was relieved for nearly 7 months. The use of botulinum toxin for the treatment of hyperhydrosis is most effective when performed by a practitioner or physician who has received special training and who has experience with the procedure. Our experienced practitioners will be able to guide you through the procedure and answer any of your questions at an initial consultation.

There are very few side effects associated with this procedure. Treatment takes a few minutes, and you may resume normal activity afterwards, except for intensive exercise, saunas, or any other situation where you may be caused to sweat excessively.
